The new Proton S70 Lite and Prime feature a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated (NA) engine paired with a CVT, replacing the previous turbocharged engine and DCT combination.

The engine produces 120 PS at 6,100 rpm and 150 Nm of torque between 4,000–5,000 rpm. This makes the new S70 Lite and Prime a more straightforward powertrain option, positioned differently from the turbocharged S70 variants.
